A Different Kind of Summer Camp

The Outdoor Studio is a nature-based art and photography program for children ages 5–8, rooted in the landscapes of the Gunnison Valley. Each week, children explore one natural element—Earth, Water, Air, or Fire—paired with a native Colorado animal, using hands-on art, photography, movement, and outdoor exploration to understand the world around them and the creativity within themselves.

Our days are spent outside: along rivers, in forests, across meadows, and under open skies. Through guided creative projects and gentle storytelling, children build confidence, emotional awareness, focus, and connection—without pressure or perfection. We believe there are no mistakes in art, only curiosity, discovery, and growth.

This is not a traditional camp with rigid schedules. It’s an intentional, small-group experience designed to help children slow down, notice deeply, create freely, and feel at home in nature.
