I’m Kiki—an artist, photographer, and mother of two boys who inspired The Outdoor Studio in the most meaningful way. I studied art in college and have spent the last 15 years running a photography business, building a career rooted in creativity, observation, and storytelling.

As my children grew, I watched how deeply they responded to art, photography, and time outdoors. Introducing them to new creative processes opened something powerful—helping them think differently, express big feelings, build confidence, and approach the world with curiosity instead of fear. I saw how creativity gave them language when words fell short, and how being trusted to explore made them feel capable and seen.

After running a successful summer program for a local school last year, I felt called to take the leap and create my own program—one rooted in outdoor adventure and inspired by my deep love of art and the many ways it helps us understand ourselves, the world, and the life unfolding around us.

I am a Level 2 qualified teacher, CPR and CDA certified, and Wilderness Backcountry First Aid certified, bringing both creative expertise and a strong foundation in child safety and care to every experience. I also have 2 other level 2 qualified, backcountry teachers that will be on each trip!

The Outdoor Studio grew from the belief that when children are given space to create, move, and explore, they don’t just learn skills—they discover who they are.
